Please record time on the log as a total number of hours for the trail ride. For example, log 3.50 hours instead of 1 pm - 4:30 pm. Also, please use decimal increments of

Click here for 2012 TRAIL RIDE SCHEDULE All rides are held on a Saturday of Each Month at 10:00 am Please check the Trail Ride Schedule to see which Saturday the ride will be held. Many thanks to Gail Fritts who has put a lot of thought and effort into arranging all these wonderful rides for us to enjoy. If you have any questions regarding our rides, contact Gail 336-248-4846 before 9:00 pm. If the weather is questionable, check the home page of this website for info on whether or not the ride is still taking place. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Trail Riding Etiquette - Be safe! Green on green makes one black and blue someone has said. Please know your horses capabilities before going out on that big trail ride. Your horse is your responsibility. Let’s not be someone else’s nightmare. Never start out from a stop until all riders are on their horses. - Check your tack before the ride! Make sure all your tack is in good condition and fits your horse prior to the ride. Saddles and other tack can be in disrepair after a long winter of little or no use. If your horse suddenly spooks, the quick movement may undo any worn out leathers. Also, your horse will appreciate good fitting tack especially if that first ride is longer or harder than you’ve planned. - Be prepared! That good old boy and girl scout tradition applies here as well. - Some people should have a first aid kit available for people and horses. Don’t just assume that all will be fine. Especially in the spring and summer. Kit lists are available in horse journals, at your vet’s office and on line. - Stay on the trail! We’ve had more trails closed to equestrians due to thoughtless riders who allow their horses to go onto fields and other areas "sensitive" to property owners. Please respect their land. - Protect the environment! Take out what you brought in. Use tree protectors and obey all fire laws. Leave the camp as it was when you arrived.
